INTRODUCTION TO FITB
OUR WEDDING DAY
MUST-READS
I’m a Pennsylvania raised turned Southern Girl residing in the heart of North Carolina. My love for home decor, organization, experimentation and creativity inspired me to share my journey!
MEET STACY
6/11/20
I love designing areas within my home, but I love when I have a family member or friend come to me for assistance and transforming an area within their home.
This time, the project is for my parents!
They live in Pennsylvania in the same house that I grew up in. It is a charming ranch style home that overlooks a large field. It really is a beautiful space. They have made many updates to the home both inside and outside. Recently, they updated the siding and painted all outdoor wooden elements a creamy white. It really has transformed the house. They are now in need of a back-deck makeover and are looking to add in new furniture and décor to compliment that space and make it more functional for their current lifestyle.
They are interested in adding in a comfortable seating area that allows for socialization, relaxation and looking out to the scenic setting. They would also like to add in a table and chairs for entertaining and to enjoy many outdoor meals. The back end of the deck is not covered by the roof leaving it to be a nice spot to relax and soak in some sunshine.
In coming up with a vision for their design, we brought in three separate seating areas to their space.
This 4-piece set gives them a cozy seating area to host a few friends. The coffee table allows for easy storage of food, beverage, additional items and an easy foot prop. The gray wash wood tone compliments nicely with the light blue and white color palette of the outside of their home yet is still warm and inviting and adds as a neutral space to bring in accents in other areas of their design.
Having an outdoor dining area was high on their lists of wants for the back-deck upgrade. They wanted the ability to host several family and friends around the table to enjoy a meal together. However, on any given day, it is just the two of them to enjoy the space. We came across the extendable outdoor table in a gray wood wash that allows them to keep their table at a small intimate size when it is just the two of them but easily allows them to expand the table to add in an additional 4-6 seats for entertaining.
What is cozier and inviting than an outdoor fir pit. This gas propane fir pit is the perfect design to add in a little warmth to a cooler spring or fall evening.
My parents are in the process of making their purchases and starting the upgrade to their back-deck so they can enjoy their new space through the remaining summer months.
I’m excited to share the completed design.
