INTRODUCTION TO FITB
OUR WEDDING DAY
MUST-READS
I’m a Pennsylvania raised turned Southern Girl residing in the heart of North Carolina. My love for home decor, organization, experimentation and creativity inspired me to share my journey!
MEET STACY
6/09/20
Saturday, March 7th will be a day I will never forget! It was a day like no other that turned me into a MRS.
As a wedding planner, I have always dreamed up about the type of wedding day I would love to have! Although I have gained experience and connections through planning so many wedding days over the years, planning my own wedding became a very different planning process as every decision was so personal.
One of the first decisions we made was the location in where to have our wedding day. My family is primarily located in Pennsylvania and my husband’s family is in Raleigh, NC. My Mom asked me once we started the planning process if I wanted to feel like a wedding planner planning my wedding or a bride planning by wedding. I wanted to feel like a bride! So we decided we would plan the wedding away from our local area and decided to meet our families in the middle in Virginia. You know what they say…Virginia is for Lovers!
Choosing the colors for our wedding day came pretty quickly. I am naturally drawn to blues and greys and we felt like it would soften up the industrial vibe of our venue space.
I have learned through assisting many other brides in making their bridesmaid dress selections that each woman is sized differently and has individual style and budgets. I decided to give each one of my bridesmaids a dress color to choose from and let them select the dress of their choice from @azazie.
My sister was my Maid of Honor as well preformed our ceremony. I wanted her look to standout a bit more. She wore Mila Print in Watercolor Garden Blue by @Jenny Yoo
*My husband wanted to wear a white suit jacket, which I instantly fell in love with as it gave a classy vibe to his look. We decided to go a bit more casual for the Groomsmen attire with a vest and coordinating ties to bring in a pop of dusty blue.
I’m obsessed with Greenery and wanted to incorporate the pretty greens through many details of our design.
Personal Flowers
We went with an organic bouquet design with pops of white blooms throughout and dusty blue and soft grey draping ribbon. Check out PART TWO of our Wedding for floral details throughout our ceremony and reception.
One of the decisions I discuss with my couples is to have children attend their wedding or keep it an “adults only” event. There are certainly some benefits to adult only events as they typically allow for less distraction and your invited guests are able to enjoy an evening of celebration without having to look after their children during the event.
For us, it was a no brainer. Not only would we be inviting children to our wedding, but we wanted to have as many of the kiddos in our lives to be a part of our special day. We had five Jr. ushers, three wedding assistants, three ring bearers, and six flower girls. These little loves play such a big part in our lives and it meant the world to us to have all their cuteness a part of our wedding day!
Stay tuned for PART TWO for details on our ceremony and reception
